This is Lisa

This is Lisa: Lisa Jie Liu. My Chinese name is Liu(2) Jie(2). Since I'm an English-majored student, I have to have an English name. In fact, I should have been more serious for choosing my English name because your English name is more popular and useful than your Chinese one in our school. But my purpose at first was just to look for a simple one that everyone can remember and spell it easily including myself. So you see, my name is rather a common one. But many problems come out just like my name's byproducts: someone called me Pizza, Lazy, Chestnut(it's Chinese pronunciation is Li[4]zi[4]) and … instead of calling my real name--Lisa. In a word, everyone deduces my English name into his own understanding. It's too hard for me to change it now because everyone knows 'Lisa' and is used to this name. If I really change it, it will really be my 'luck' to tell everyone I know in the world. I dare not expect the troubles I will get more than that. Moreover, I'll really be in a big trouble if I explain why I change my name to my foreign teachers: they always have the strongest curiosities about everything concerned with their students and they'll never feel tired to let their industrious students practice their oral English with them. So, my God! I believe when you read these, you will persuade me not to change it, right? Am I too talkative, now I'll come to the point of my introduction…

I was born on Jan. 8th,1978, two years after our Premier Zhou Enlai's death. It means a lot: yao[4] fa[1] in Chinese means getting rich, and its pronunciation is similar to '1.8' in Chinese. That is why so many shops select this day to open their businesses. You will say:" how lucky you are." But actually, to a student, the day will always be "black". It's really my fate and my so-called 'luck' to celebrate my birthday by test each year. When one of my foreign teacher knew the fact, he was so excited and said:" Oh, You're the Birthday Girl! God will bless you! Happy birthday!" Oh, My God! If the teacher could be far away from me during the exam, it will be the best gift for my birthday. But on the contrary, he paid more attention to me and walked around me: it seemed I was cheating in the exam although I'm always the 'honest' one. ?

But everything should be divided into 2 aspects. I also think I'm a lucky one because my parents let me learn more things than others when I was a little child. Although my family is very poor, my parents were aware of the importance of early education. I think every parent wants their children to be much better than themselves or even to be perfect, so do my parents. They could give up anything else but for my study. I played the accordion when I was 6 years old and changed to play the piano when I was 11. I held my own concert when I was 14 with the help of my teacher. It was really a big success in all my lifetime. Although I can't be perfect in any aspect, I still think it's my capital to show off in the future because I can just tell others what I can and leave the question that how well I can to their own imagination. I believe a saying: too modest, too pride. So, if someone thinks that I am too pride, "I don't think so" is my powerful response.

Every girl wants to be a 'fair lady', so do I. But when my friends knew it, they swore:" if you are a fair lady, there'll be no 'lady' in the world." It's true--I have to admit it. But it's not only to myself, but also to my roommates. Do you remember " one takes on the color of one's company"? Our dorm is always cat-and-dog, and it's very popular for its noisiness in our school. None of us is a 'fuel-saver'(sheng3 you2 deng1) and no one can figure out how many comedies will be shown in our dorm everyday. Because of our personalities, our real drama---"The dormitory's story in college" won the 1st prize during the drama festival in our university. Ok, I'll tell you more later in my other links.

In my previous homepage, there're many mistakes. So it's better for me to write less----the best way to avoid mistakes. In fact, there's no structure of my writing here. I just write it spontaneously. You know, the rules of writing are so boring. First, you must have a warming-up practice before your writing, and then: clustering, narrow the topic, narrow your thesis sentence, give out your supporting points, your first draft, your editing, your 2nd draft, your improvement, your final draft, final editing, write out your figures of speech in your essay, and underline your thesis sentence for each paragraph… and then reread your paper. Ok, now you can hand in your writing to the teacher.( Of course, I will not let my teacher know my homepage address? ) So now you understand what is " learn more and know less". If you really follow these rules step by step, you will finally find out that you forget how to begin your writings. Here's my secret, when I write my essay, I often finish my final draft first, and then follow the rules inversely. The result is also satisfying.

Ok, I think I'd better stop here.

Thank you for your tolerance by reading these.
